Remote Side mirrors for 914
I'm looking for an alternative set of side mirrors for the 914.
I want them be sturdy, unlike the baby toronado's that get bumped all the time. I also want them to have remote control - cable or electric. Any ideas? - preferably first hand experience. I've thought that ther must be some nice 911 year that would fit well. Anyone tried this? TIA,

Yes on the 911 mirrors, I have seen several cars with them, but I am not sure if they were electric, or if that even matters in terms of installation. As I recall, many years ago when European Car Magazine was still called "VW & Porsche" there was a tech article on the subject. I think all that was done to the mirror prior to install was to reshape the base to match the arch on the top of the 914 door, as it is different than the 911. I think this only required the use of a grinder/dremel - and a well tested template...
