Trunk lift #'s and open/closed length?

Hello All,

I searched all over this site, but could find out what #, and stroke length (Open/closed) the gas struts should be for the rear trunk modification. Does anyone that's done this happen to know this info?

Muchas Gracias!

Contact Bill at Bspark47@aol.com

He has built plenty of them and is a designer for some of the kits you see for sale.

Tell him Dave Bell sent you.

I know that they sell them at PP, and several other places. And when it comes to 914 parts it's PP all the way (except for the occasional Ebay purchase), but I am by nature a "Cheapo", and if I can save a few bucks here and there I'll go that route. I happened across an industrial supply site

http://guden.com/

that sells the standard gas struts ($10.68 each) and all the fixin's for around $30 shipped. Heck, they even sell stainless steel ones if you wanted something shiny back there (about $35 each).

Now don't go flamin' me for not getting them from PP. I just figure that's money saved for some "Real" Porsche parts that I'll definitely be getting from Wayne and the Boys.

So, does anyone happen to know the info, or am I going to have to dust off the Slide rule and brush up on my Trig
