Front Brake Rotors
I was looking for new brake rotors for my 1975 914-4. I see listings for early and late rotors. What is the difference between the two? Sure is a price difference.
Thanks, neilca |

Late rotors are hubcentric, early are not. I believe the rotor offset to the hat is a little different between the two. You can't interchanges without changing strut/caliper

I was trying to fit some 16" Fuchs on top my late rotors but the center, hub centic part, was too big for the Fuchs. I guess I will have to machine these rotors to fit.
Thanks neilca |

911 fuchs are 5-bolt. 911 fuchs were 14,15 or 16"
914 fuchs are 4-bolt. 914 fuchs were only 15" Need more info about your brake/suspension set up as the car in the avatar looks pretty "non stock"

This is not for the race car. I have a street 1975 that I am fixing up. What I am doing is putting 16" Fuchs onto the stock 914 rotors. I will be drilling them for the 5 lugs. I was hoping the early rotors could be used since they are not the hub centric type. The feature that makes them hub centric is too large for the Fuchs.
I looked at using the 911 components but I want to keep the ones I have as spares for the race car, you never know... |

You need to machine off the hub-centric ring. Here's a picture of that exact mod. You can't use the early because the offset is way different.
