June 1st get-together in CT?
I’ve been watching with envy as people from different parts of the country have planned and pulled off 914 get-togethers. It looks like a lot of fun to check out everyone’s cars, trade stories, and put some faces with the names.
Being someone that really despises expending any unnecessary effort, I could never put something together. I’ve been hoping that someone would set up a meet that would be convenient for 914 owners in the Northeast. However, I’ve identified an opportunity to exploit the efforts of others to provide us with a venue for an event. On Saturday June 1st, the Connecticut Valley Region of the PCA is holding its CVR Porsche Club Cruise Night. The event is being held from 5:00pm to 10:00pm that evening at the Marcus Dairy Bar in Danbury, CT. The location is convenient to most of lower New England and New York. Additionally, to give you another reason to make the trip, that weekend is the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. If you’ve never been, prepare for a mind-blowing event. You will see phenomenal examples of some of the finest automobiles ever built. You will also rub elbows with people that have more money than G… I will be at both events that weekend. Hopefully, some of the other 914 owners in the area will plan on stopping by at Marcus on Saturday night. |

I'll try to make it too. Marcus Dairy used to be a Sunday ritual back in my sport bike days. Sounds like a lot of fun. Hope to see you there.

But if the weather is good I plan to attend.

I'll plan to be there, maybe there will be a nice 914 for sale there. I'll ride my motorcycle up as not to take up much room.

I’m going to bring along my copy of Excellence as well. I’m hoping to get Ed to sign it…if I can get past the throngs of groupies that will be surrounding him.
BTW, I’ll be there signing my new book (actually it’s just a list) titled, 101 Projects You Should Pay Your Mechanic To Do. Topics range from the very simple, "Where Does This Screw Go?" to the complex, "I Just Put It Back Together So Why Do I Have All Of These Extra Parts?" Hope to see everyone there! |

Paul, I love the tag-line over on the left...
Don't forget about the East Coast Ramble! I know it's a little ways off yet, but it should be fun if last year's event is a good example!! It's a bit further north than CT, though, over the border in Canada. I wish I could remember the URL... Too much weekend, not enough coffee!!! ![]() --DD

Well, good news and bad. Good: I learned today that my long-awaited '73 was finally put on a truck and is making its way to CT. Bad: I have my children the next three weekends (oh, no, NOT "bad", not at all) so I shall not be able to make Marcus.
