Seat Mount
My driver's side seat mounts are broken due to wear/rust. The PO tried welding the braket piece back on, but that didnt last long. My mechanic wants to drill a hole through the floor to mount it, but he said that it would disable the tilt of the seat(it will ony be able to go fowards and backwards.) Does pelican parts sell this part or is it even replaceable? Heres a picture of what it looks like:
A closer look: http://parkbackwards.org/files/cars/project_914/IMG_1152.JPG Thanks all. By the way I saw my car drive today by it's own power for the first time in over a year

You can replace the entire assy by welding it in. I just shipped the same parts to a gentleman in NY.
Find a local junk yard that has a 914. Cut the entire bracket assy out of the floor (it can be done with a sharp cold steel chisel and hammer if necessary). Cut about 1/2" or more extra around the entire bracket. Take it home, drill out the spot welds that attach it to the floor section. Weld the bracket with mount in place of your old one. The hinge is welded to a metal bracket. You want to not disturb the weld on the hinge. If you put a bolt thru the floor, there is a small space between the bracket and the floor. Tightening the bolt will collapse this spave and misalign the hinge. nuff said?

I did what Ron described...
... I got mine from Austin VEE DUB for $15. Had to chisel it out myself. Grinding the welding spots took longer than chiseling a big hole in the junk car. Give them a call they might have one more: 1 800 282 3119 Patrick Koch

If that doesn't work out for you, give Glenn Sager a yell. a914luvr@earthlink.net He's got a couple of Sawzall victims out back that should be able to donate the hinges and so on. He can probably just send you that whole section of floor...

I had a smilar problem with my little leech. My passenger seat was loose so I figured my hing was gone. Boy was I right so was that whole section of my floor. Just be glad you don't have to fix your whole floor. Although it was rather easy to remove my hinge.
One litttle push & it fell out the bottom of my car . Of course it's all fixed now.
