I currently have that round chrome thing from a PO and a small rotary electric FP that doesn't shut off until the ignition gets shut off at the switch ( key). This car came with a factory (25psi, yikes) pump with webers, and I've heard about something called a facet/fasel or something like that for VW applications that's supposed to be good. What's the cleanest setup?

Yep, it's a Facet (sp?). There are two different types that I have seen/used, the only difference being the PSI. I think one is 2.5 - 3PSI and the other is up to 5 PSI. I would also reccommend a fuel pressure regulator. Both the pump and the reg are available at 99% of local auto parts stores.
I have had a fairly new pump fail in the past, so I keep a spare with me. Pretty cheap insurance.

Facet pumps are cheap and noisy. Put them on rubber isolation mounts or the clacking will drive you crazy.
...It might anyway, but some of us have a shorter journey to get to "crazy" than others. ![]() --DD

You will probably wire the pump so it stays on whenever the ignition is turned on. If your rotary pump is the correct PSI, I wuld stick with it-it will be more quiet than a facet. You can also get pressure regulators at your FLAPS if its output is too great.
