Question (Another) Rear Brake Upgrade Question

Searched the archives but either didn't ask the right question, or really didn't see an answer...

Has anybody used the spacer from a 911 M caliper on a stock 914 rear caliper? It would seem that you could also then use vented rotors and retain the emergency brake. Am I oversimplifying things, i.e., is this do-able or even desirable? I'd like hear from anyone who's done this or seriously considered doing it. Thanks.

Yes, it's doable. Yes, it's been done. I don't have any source at the moment for someone who has done it, but Jon Lowe (PCA's 914 Tech Committee member) does.

Desirable? If you gotta have vented rotors and don't want to give up the e-brake, it's one of the easier ways to go. Either that, or you gotta do the fabrication to use the full 911 setup.
