Compufire Distributorless Ignition

Has anyone used the DIS-IX Distributor Less Ignition Module made by Compufire? I use their magnetic pickup in both our cars and they are great and this eliminates the high voltage inside the distributor cap, rotor, etc. The price I saw at an off road shop was about $275 or so?

I am very interested in this product as well. Almost went this route but ended up with the MSD as I could not find anyone who had ever installed/used it.
Anyone?

Its like a crank fire, only its on your distributer so there is some added slop.

It was designed for the 009.

It needs to be modified for some/all type 4 dizys. Jake does them.

The owners at shoptalk like them.

I understand it also fires on exhaust so there is another module to get the tach to read correctly. See the link..

Not exactly the same type of unit, but I run an electromotive setup and am very pleased with it. No distributor at all.....

How difficult is the electromotive unit to set up? Just curious, I have a Crane xr-3000 and have it dialed in...got rid of my points and in the process got rid of the popping and missing I always thought was my carbs' fault. The electromotive system looks the best of all.

Not to bad once you get past the sticker shock.
The PO had it (professionally) installed.
I have since reworked the installation and wiring.
Since you are local to Electromotive, they are in
Manassas, tech support is easy. They have been great to
deal with. I needed a plug for the dist. hole b/c it
was left installed and I wanted it out. I used a rubber boat
drain plug. Also, I have seen a rubber expand type of freeze plug
used. Dialing in advanve is easy. If I get it out this weekend I will take some pics of the unit. The wiring to the relay is still sloppy, still working on it.....

I have the Electromotive setup in my modified Honda Civic Si. It's a bit of an overkil if you are just trying to get rid of the point. Also, as previously stated, it's quite pricey.
