Dash brake light

My dash brake light is blinking although both the back and the front systems appear to be working great! What's going on? Can the master cylinder hydraulic pressure sending unit be reset? Help. I'm lost.

The master cylinder switch on most (all?) 914s stays "on" until it is re-set. You re-set it by pressing the button on the switch.

To see the switch, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right. Then dig out a flashlight and look in the wheel well. Check just above the "rack cover" on the bottom for the master cylinder. It will have a couple of hard metal lines and a wire coming out of it. Check for a rubber "nipple" right by where the wire comes out. Push on the nipple, you will feel a button underneath. Push that button in, and the M/C switch should be reset.

If that dosen't work (it should 9 times out of 10) then trace the wire going to the E-brake switch. Either the switch is corroded and faulty, or the wire going to it is grounded (mine got sliced in the seat track).
