Not the post I want to make.
After doing business over a year with members and vendors listed in the Classifieds, and having nothing but good experience with all, and getting my car restored with everyone's help from this and other forums with great fun, I think I have a problem. There is a member that has been posting in the Classifieds of all the 914 forums, almost daily, with sometimes many posts a day. This member is out of PA. He responded to my post WTB a running engine with a 1.7. I was in his area on a business trip and called to take a look. We shood hands. We made a deal and I paid him with a check in full. That was before Thanksgiving. The deal was to deliver to my door in MA. To date, no engine, but many excuses. Now I realize we are dealing with a holiday period. But, I have heard so many stories, and also have had more requests for money for aditional parts I was interested in. I have taken many days off waiting for this engine to arrive on dates scheduled. Yesterday it was to be here by noon, at 5:00 pm I called and was told his driver was 1-2 hours out. Never arrived. Now this guy has gone underground on me. Before I take this to the next level, I am looking to see if it's just a bad deal for him promising delivery he can't make. OR, if others are getting duped. Please PM me. Thanks. BTW, if this is a legitimate guy that thinks he made a bad deal, I would think he would just man up and pay a shipper to get it done. I gave him $500.00, of which $150 was to pay for getting it to me for a (trusting this) running 1.7. ![]()

still didnt get my bumper and rockers and misc trim that was suposidly sent on the 12th . but i sent a small box to michigan about the same day and it still hasnt gotten there either. I hope the shippers are to blame and not the seller. not sure when your transaction took place but i think its still too early for me to shake trees. Maby someone who has gotten their parts will tell the tale.

Buyers beware
I hope this guy doesn't have your money as well. He is not shipping the engine, but told me he hired someone to bring it up to me (approx 7 hour trip).
He has been banned once again from 914world. He has been shut down by PayPal. He has an ebay scam notice posted on him Admins please take note......

Running914 has stepped up his classifieds postings here since being shut down by 914World.
Buyer Beware.

I too had a terrible experience with running914.. He sent me non working parts which he assured me were tested and obviously were not. when I tried to get a refund I got nothing but excuses about everything from shipping companies and prices to the gov't to his boss, everyone except him. instead of giving me a refund he sent out the wrong part to replace it. another part i had ordered took over 6 weeks to get here but i had already opened a claim with my bank to get my money refunded..which worked. apparently they closed his credit card system down, he was not happy with me but he is not a trustworthy seller, is terrible with communication, will ignore your calls and blame you for his mistakes..beware!
*just noticed he has moved to thesamba.com under the name "914parts" Last edited by jt914; 01-09-2013 at 01:21 PM.. Reason: update |

Same deal here. His excuse was he lost the parts they got sent out to who knows where. sent me a replacement bumper that looked like it was from a demolition derby. Good news is through his incompetence there was no charge to my cc and i made sure it stays that way.

Danny Hunter you are still a thief. I am filing a theft report with the police. Keep a light on for them. Good day. John

Now he's not responding to my emails. This is the first time I've been burned and it really stinks. It's not so much the money but the disappointment and integrity issues. With that being said, this experience has been the exception and my dealings with all other Pelicans have been just fine.
The face-to-face situation described by the OP is even more disturbing-- who does that?! Nevertheless, thanks for posting as a warning to others. |

It should be done. Not to actually assault him, but to wake him up a little to how serious it is to screw people. I think a few guys simply saying hello in person and picking up wndsnd's engine should make an impression.

I picked up my engine on Tuesday. I had to drive 12 hours, but dANNY had it in a box and we loaded it.
In the end, it was a rusty core, with hotglue all over the cracked and leaking vacuum lines. He literally cut all the wires instead of disconnecting them when he removed the engine so everything is useless. The injection harness is cut up. A far cry from a Running 1.7 he said he was selling me, that came out of a running car in October, and that he replaced all the vacuum lines, and bench ran it. But I did see the engine before I paid for it and It probably is the engine I paid for, just not what he promised me. In the end, if you choose to buy from dANNY HUNTER, you might get what you paid for, or you might not. Or you might end up in a big fight. I had to get two police departments involved or I probably would not have gotten a thing. My book is closed.

I too had issues with Danny. Fortunately on small parts - he shipped two instead of the three I paid for. Made a claim with VISA and, due to the small amount involved, refunded the disputed amount.
They guy came up with some great excuses for not shipping (son just back from Afganistan, Hurricane Sandy.....) on time. But, buyer beware - the guy is a flake.

Caveat Emptor! For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would do business w/him after posts like this. Sorry, but this isn't baseball; for me it is 1 strike and you are out!

Here's a link to the Pennsylvania Attorney General online complaint form, copied from the 914 World board, for anyone that's had any problems.
