After washing the 914 I have found that the front spoiler has seen better days. My question is can I spray paint it black again.
Also is it just flat black or something different ? Thanks |

Sure, you can repaint it; just carefully remove it from the car.
Everybody has a different choice for prepping the surface, but unless it's badly gouged ("Ridin' up them curbs again, eh?"), you could clean it with some soap & water, lightly sand it with some 400 Grit sandpaper, and wipe it clean with some paint thinner. I used a couple coats of rattle-can Rustoleum Satin Black (seems anything glossier will show up your sanding talents) on my rear valence. Once dry, I used a clean cloth and hand-buffed the surface, sprayed some wax on the cloth, than wiped the valence to a nice luster. Considering where these pieces hang, it's only going to look "that good" until the end of the driveway ("Damn lowered 914 and concrete ant mounds!"). ![]()

Yes I can relate to that. Nothin like getting your baby back fromm the Paint shop all nice & pretty. Then later that week getting a little to close to the Ant curb I think you called it. Hearing a nice little grind. Gol darn it I think! As I back up she make alot more noise. Get out to take a look. Sun of a Biscuit I riped a nice gouge in the drivers side of it. So much for the perfect paint job. My lovely car with the ugly ripped front spoiler
