Carb conv fuel pump wiring

I'm converting my 76 2.0 to dual carbs. How do I wire the fuel pump? Can I use the stock wiring or do I have to run new wiring? A diagram would be helpful. Thanks

The FI pump is run by the FI computer. You are presumably going to be ditching that, so you'll need to wire it up differently.

You can hook a wire to one pin of the four-pin FI harness connector on the relay board (I forget which) and that will get power when the ignition is "on". The power will be going through a relay, so it won't rob power from your ignition coil. You'll have to leave that one relay plugged in, though.

See the relay board electrical diagram elsewhere on this site for details of which relay (I think it's the "power supply relay") and which connector you use.

Or you can just plug the pump into something that gets power when the ignition is on. But I like the idea of running the power through a relay.

If you are putting the fuel pump in the engine compartment, you can also grab power off of the positive side of the coil.

If you locate the pump in the front, Jump from the FI harness connector on the relay board to another location on the circuit board to energise the fuel pump relay.

You could solder a jumper in between the two points also.
