Huh!? Idle Fix???
I had checked all of the cursory items: air leaks, valve adjust, timing, all related FI components, but my idle was running really high. If I disconected the dizzy hoses my engine would jump like 1000rpm. With the hoses connected it would idle smooth at 1500rpm and oscillate at anything lower. To smoothit out at 1200rpm I would have to have the fuel adjust pot full rich and lots of air flow past the idle adjust screw. I thought that this was wierd as all that I have changed with the Dizzy.
Now to the interesting point....I reversed the hoses on the dizzy, opposite to what they had been on the previous dizzy and ...BINGO! It idles like a new car, it idles low, it runs good. I bought an aftermarket rebuilt dizzy and think it may have differences in its hookup. Sound strange? I mainly want to know if I have just lit a fuse to my engines distruction. TIA Mike
