carb issues
I have spent a good bit of the last 2 years doing rustorations to my 2.0 1973 914 and it sits idle for long periods. I just attempted to run it after 4 months of idle and something is amiss with the carbs. It runs at full throttle only, the linkage is not stuck.
Suggestions? |

With the gas we now have most anywhere in the US, the engine should be run at least once a week at the longest and even then use a big dose of Stabil. I am guessing the internals are gooped up with a white putty like stuff and a rebuild will be in order.

Any good instructions out there for doing a carb rebuild and parts needed. I think my carbs are Weber 40IDFs.
