Finally, New Tires!

Bought some 205-60-15 Fulda Assuro's to replace my 185-15's yesterday after some deliberation. I do like them but need to get used to the touchiness. These are on stock rims.... Has anyone run into space problems with 205's? I think I heard a little rubbing today when I had the wheel cranked but I'm not sure.....

It's common for 205s (and not uncommon for 195s!) to rub on the inner fender wall just aft of the shock tower. This is generally only an issue at full-lock steering, and most people just live with it and know not to turn their wheels to full lock.

Sounds good to me! It seems to be worth the larger contact patch.... especially in the rain which hardly ever happens in the Seattle area!

tire choices

Im also ready for a new set of tires. Interested in an excellent performance street tire - maybe the occasional autocross. You guys have any suggestions on make model and size to go with?

Porsche Crest

The hot tire that many in San Diego PCA are enjoying are Falken Azenis (I think I mis-spelled that.) I haven't tried them yet but they are said to stick well but give little warning before breaking away. Some people are turning in some ripping good times with them and they are cheap (I was told $43 each from Tire Rack for 195/60/15 and I think $48 for 205/50.)

The also look very bad-a$$. with an asymetrical tread pattern that puts most of the stickem at the outside of the tire and the rain channels to the inside.

Falken Azenis
