44 idf weber Carb gasping
OK... i picked up my 74 2.0 from "storage" after a few months.. it starts up fine, but I am getting a nasty, what I'd call, "click then gasp" sound from my passenger side 2 barrel 44idf Weber carb.
This happens at low RPMs as well as high. The impact is my RPMs do a nosedive and I loose power. Anyone have any ideas what would be causing this gasp? This is an almost brand new carb with about 100 miles on it. The driver's side carb came with the car and seems to be fine. Thanks a bunch Rob Phelan. |

I would check the main and air jets first, it sounds like there is a rat turd stuck in there. It is a quick check anyway.

Definately pull all of the jets and clean them. The age or mileage of the carb does not matter when it comes to picking up airborne or fuelborne crud! Also make sure all of the jets are the same from side to side. Don't laugh, I've seen it done!
