Doh! help please all night thrash DE weekend

He my old age just hit me hard I did not keep track of cylinder base shims when I removed them, how do I determine the numbers and sizes needed doh!!

I plan on using the head gaskets and cylinder shims

You figure out what deck height you want, what compression ratio you want, you measure the combustion chambers, crunch through the numbers, and do some math.

No simple "use X thickness" recipe, unfortunately. Depends on the exact length of the cylinders, the chamber volumes, etc.

Working through this right now, Stock 76 2.0 block, crank & connecting rods*, 96mm flat top Keith Black Pistons, and new 96MM cyls worked out to .060 shims for very close to stock deck height. In my case I am working with all new, sized parts, YMMV. *Obviously, If you are reassembling and have shims of various size or had more than one on a particular cyl, you will have to refigure your deckheight.
