I am rebuilding a 2.0 porsche engine and have a question , In tearing down the engine I found something that is got me stumped. The heads have a bolt that screws into the head right next to the intake area . These (there is two) bolts go into the head at an angle right next to the intake manifold at an angle. These bolts are about 2 inches long and are threaded about an inch and the screw into the head, what are they and what do they do

Maybe from the smog pump, is it a 1975 or 1976 motor?

Sounds like the EGR or air injection holes from a 75-76 car.
