Intermittent Wipers

Does anyone know if a 76 2.0 can have intermittent wipers. I have a position on my wiper arm (all the way down) which seems to
be just like my 87 GTI which had intermittent
wipers. A mechanic said he thought all 76's were wired to support this and all I needed was the relay. Any ideas ?

It should be able to have them, but no idea if they were installed on all or not. Check for a relay in the front trunk, on the vertical support by the brake fluid reservoir. I think that's the relay that controls the intermittent wiper function.
