Wiring Diagram

I'm coming to the end of my retso on my 1970 914 ,I'm going to fit the instruments but after 2 years i can't read the label's i had on the wires ,does any body have a chart or diagram showing what wire goes where (the easier the better)

The two relevant diagrams are:

The same diagrams (in B&W) are also found in your Haynes manual. (If you don't have one, get one.)

The layout of the wires is close to where they actually are on the physical gauges. The terminal numbers match exactly, though. So use those--they should be next to the terminals on the gauges.

If you have questions, you can ask here.

Wiring colors, unless someone has hacked with them, are pretty consistent. Solid black or solid red are power; black/blue (black with a blue stripe) is instrument illumination power, brown is ground, and so on.

A hint to remember is when reading the electrical diagrams, either in a book or on the site here, is to use the "water fall" idea for current flow. That is the current flows from the top of the page towards the bottom and after the electrical item such as a light or gauge the wire is almost always brown.
