Celeb 914's
I remember an interview with rapper-turned-actor "Ice T" where
he said he had a 914 back in his 'hood. He referred to it as a "junior Porsche"....I just wondered if anyone had a scan of any celebs in 914's in the 70's, like the aforementioned Leif Garret, etc. Even digital enhancements might be fun ( Elvis, James Dean, etc) ![]()

He actually grew up near me in here in MN (St Cloud). Wonder if he bought it here. Come on, somebody's gotta have a cool 70's celeb shot in a 914. You know, like Karen Valentine in a Yellow 76 2.0 or something...

#20 - 1970 PORSCHE 914-4 Two-door Targa. S/N 4702910254. Black/black vinyl. LHD. Odo: 8,881 miles. 5-speed. Chrome disc wheels. Original owner Wally Cleaver of “Leave it to Beaver.” Cheap seat covers. Cheap paint job falling apart. Small dent to hood and driver’s door latch. Trunk lid hinges loose. Rust bubbling on passenger’s front fender. A beater. SOLD AT $2,935. We would guess that “celebrity ownership” added exactly $935 to the value of this poor old thing. Best bet—take the “HI HUNEY” license plates and hang them on the wall, and give the car to a local charity.

Letterman currently owns an original 914-6 (along with a bazillion other cars).

Seinfeld also has one, a GT or maybe just an M471 car with a sport muffler (I'm not sure I can tell the difference from 150 feet away).

John Denver --
Don't forget about John Denver. He got a DUI after crashing a yellow 914 in Aspen. I read somewhere that he had a 70s 911, too. |

Anyone see PLN crash a Brumos 914 at Lime Rock last year at Rennsport Reunion? It was shown on the TV coverage. I don't think he owned it though.

I once spotted a white 914 at a gas station so I went to check it out. Turns out it was the drummer from a little band called Slayer. Right over in Newark, CA
