Is there a simple way to tell the difference without removing it from the engine? Once again, THANKS.

Every BOSCH 050 dizzy cap I have seen is black.
Every BOSCH 009 cap I have seen is burnt orange. This is the best I can do. Oh.. the rotors should be the same color as the cap. B |

There should be some other minor differences, but I didnt see anybody jumping to answer you.
I have seen a 009 in several years (most of our cars are injected) or have a 050. B |

The number is printed right on the side. Get an inspection mirror and a flashlight, the last three numbers (I think) should be 050 or 009.

there will be two series of numbers
1. Top will be the Bosch OEM 2. Bottom will be the Porsche number
