rear trans shift rod coupler question 73 2.0 side shifter
im reinstalling rear shift rod coupler with new bushing in coupler onto ball at trans,but finding it tough to get coupler onto ball.any tips,is this usually a tight fit.?

It's a tight fit,,, you can tap the bushing onto the ball end with a rubber mallet. Then slide the shift coupler over it.

I used to use a very large pair of water pump pliers that had no teeth so I could squeeze the ball into the cup.

Some people like to just put the bushing on first, then slide the coupler on over the bushing.
Some like to drill a small hole on the bottom of the bushing to let the air out. Some like to put the bushing in water that is just shy of boiling to soften it up. I do the first, myself. --DD
