Rear Bearing Replacement-Torquing Axle Nut

Replaced the rear wheel bearings on my 914
Need to torque the axle nut
Is it best to torque the axle nut with the car on the lift.........or on the ground with the weight of the car on it????????

Any way you can get ~250 lb-ft on the axle nut is good. For most of us, that means the car has to be on the ground with weight on the wheels.
