Modify new turn signal switch for 71 install ?

With the earlier 70-71 switch NLA, looking for info on what to mod on the newer one so we can restore turn signals and headlamp control

don't know about modifying one, but perhaps you could get used from easy porsche parts in emmeryville,ca.

OR you could swap out the upper steering wheel assembly with a later one with the turnsignal that works. The key would be differnt but maybe that could be shanged too.

I did exactly this in my 70 car years ago. Got a good 74 swich from a rusty parts car. took it all apart and solder spliced in the new and old wires. Worked great.
