hey I'm not the only one that had to weld in a patch panel in the back, except instead of mine being two smaller pieces, mine's one big piece. I've already got it painted and as long as the carpet's over it it looks good and when the carpet's up it looks ok, but you can tell htere's a patch.

Actually, those are panels to cover up where the 75-76 "bumper shocks" sit. From the bare-metal bits, it seems obvious that this is a late car being converted to early bumpers.

I feel like a 10 year old a few days from Christmas! Can't hardly wait till I get it back. I would love to have a white interior but this little job is going to set me back a bundle. I am installing a chrome rear bumper, but I am keeping the rubber bumper on the front. Hope this doesn't look too wierd but I haven't found a perfect front chrome bumper yet.

Robby,

For what you'd pay for a nice used chrome bumper, you could have your painted bumper chromed - approx $300.00 and that usually includes a decent warranty on the work.

FWIW,

robby, what was the work done on your door jam, was it rusted?

i have a car which was bent there, and i was wondering how hard to replace it with another part, which it looks like you're doing.

Both door jambs were very rusted and were replaced with some used pieces sent to me from a sawzall party that some Pelicanheads had a few months ago. The job looks difficult to me because I certainly couldn't do it. That's why I'm paying for someone else to do it and
the repairs look really good so far.

Sorry to say that there is no new progress other than a battery tray replacement which I thought would be a boring picture any way. But, I do have my new license plate to show everyone. My boys really like it.

They are cute, but wait until they develope an appetite! They will eat you out of house and home, you'll have to sell the car to pay the grocery bill! I'm actually jealous, my son is in college and is in no way cute anymore...accept to other 19 year old girls. They are a blessing, enjoy them! Here is my plate!

I don't know what's going on with the masking at this stage but I do know that the entire car will be painted.

The window frame doesn't need primer if if the underlying paint is good, just sanding. They sprayed primer/surfacer on the body to fill in imperfections and cover any bare metal. The next step assuming they do it right is guide coat it, block sand it, then spray another coat of primer and sand if required. Then it's ready to paint...
