Got this recently, cant find a similar one searching here and google images. Looks like a rennshift one but more smoothed and polished.

Sorry can't ID your shifter ,I have personally short shifted a few cars and generally it works well, my GTI golf was night and day as my 944 Scheel kit ,I understand the 901 box isn't happy with short shift in a 914 but I only comment cause it's only second hand info.
The clever guys on here talk about the bushes that control the shift and my future purchase has had this all done,at the end of the day its all about what you are after but remember the limitations of the gearbox which in real terms is an old design and prone to syncromesh problems if overworked.
