HELP ME (need production numbers)
I'm putting together a nice fat business plan and need the 914 production numbers from the first air cooled to the last air cooled.
If you dont have the numbers, but can point me in the right direction (website etc.) I would be very happy..lol The break down of engine type and cars would be nice. Anybody know where I can find this info ?? B |

Did you already ask Bruce Anderson?
Roland Kunz might also have the info.

I was just looking at this site a few minutes ago...
http://www3.porsche.com/english/usa/clubs/worldwide/clubnews/cw0104/pclassic.htm I have seen in other places the total production at around 118,000 cars, but this link is from the official P-car site. |

There is more data on the www.dgi.net/914 site...see how they differ?
There is a HUGE discrepancy in the 1976 production numbers...10,000 cars one way or the other. I've also heard that the 1976 914 cars were only imported to the US and not sold in the ROW.

This is all they have...I am not sure it is comprehensive... |

I somehow think the "14100" figure for the 1976 cars on the Porsche website might be a typo...

According to Brian Long's book:
year: 4 cyl + 6 cyl ----------------------------- 1970: 13,312 + 2657 1971: 16,231 + 432 1972: 21,580 + 229 1973: 27,660 1974: 21,370 1975: 11,369 1976: 4,075 approx 119,000 units total, including the odd 916 / 914-8 Bruce Johnson's book disagrees by less than 50 units.

Ok,
The 914 BBS replied 12 times with useful information, not too mention the number of private emails I received. Thanks guy's. I got it all done before my meeting this evening (which went great..you guy's are in SOOOO much trouble) The 911 BBS (1 response) I know they built a ton of 911's but you would think that somebody over there was a GURU. I knew 80% of the 914 sales numbers off the top of my head. B |

How many are left? I think this was discussed awhile back and we came up with about 20 to 30,000 cars. Remember most 914's were sold in Calif and Az where they don't rust like in the other states.

RandyF,
I have secured 500k to get things rolling. It wont take any cash infusion after that. We are purchasing a 23 year old company. If you want to invest in some of the future 914 products that I want make... we can chat. The current owner is a 914 person and (me) will always be a 914 person. I'll shoot you a copy of the business plan when the 3 of us are done getting it together. JimS, I'm not buying a company to make money from selling 914 parts, I was actually using the 914 sales number to show that our product was on over half the cars sold (market penetration) B |

Brad,
I wasn't trying to question your direction. I was only wondering how many of our cars are left. I didn't mean any offense. Sorry! Jim |
