Bumper Question

Will a 73 Chrome bumper fit on a 74? I just tried to install one on my 74 and it did not seem to fit well.

I may have answered my own question. The black rubber seems different, the bumper seems to fit fine the black rubbger part is hitting!

In case you're not happy with your own answer...AFAIK the 73 and 74 bumpers are the same. The 74 had the 'tits' on the rear but I always thought the actual metal bumper and rubber cap were identical in terms of shape, size and mounting...

Are you talking front or rear?

I'm talking about the rear. The wrap around section does not fit into the indentation on the side of the car and the rubber does not seem to fit correctly. I'll take a pic tomorrow and post it. I maybe to picky.

Should I have the rubber spacer between the car and the bumper on the back bumper? The one that the attach bolt runs thru. It seems to fit better without it.

You should use it--the 74s do.

I don't know what is up with the bumpers you have; I suspect that one or the other is tweaked a bit.
