Not a clue but it seems like a nice 914 seat.

Can anyone tell me if this is a Scheel seat?

The positioning of the lever on the side looks like it isn't made for a 914, despite the other visual cues.

It looks a lot like the stock tilt lever to me, Cap'n... Just with the seat slid far forward on the tracks.
My thought is that it is a modified stock 914 seat. The headrest in particular is very much stock 914. The Scheel seats I have seen photos of have had separate headrests, or none at all. Ditto the seats from GTS Classics, which is the other maker that came to mind from the photo. Examples: ![]() That's not conclusive, though. --DD

You could be right, Dave. It just looks like it might foul the parking brake handle.

A little more info. As you can see, it is not a fiberglass framed seat. It is tubular metal framing with webbing that supports the seat bottom. The headrest is detachable - it's on metal posts - and it is also rather different than a typical 914 headrest in that is has a zipper across the rear. It also has a different profile than a 914 headrest. The seat bottom is also sewn to the rest of the upholstery unlike the typical 914 seat, which has a removeable seat bottom cushion.

Ah, in that case it could very well be a Scheel seat. The images look similar, but not identical, to
You might try pinging the folks at GTS Classics to see what they have to say. They repro Scheels, so they presumably know what different variations of them look like. --DD

It looks very much like a Scheel 114 but with pebble Porsche style vinyl. I know it was from the late 70's because that is when it was installed in the '72 914 that it recently came out of.
