1.8 vs. 2.0 exhaust

Anybody know if I am able to run a 2.0 motor with a complete 74' 1.8 SS heat exchangers and a 1.8 muffler? Will there be any size or space constraints? I am under the assumption that the only difference between the 2.0 and 1.8 is the slight curve upward on the 1.8 muffler flange (and relocated intakes on the muffler), but that the tubes that mount to the heads are identical as far as spacing is concerned. Anybody tried this before? Steve

As long as you have the 1.7/1.8 muffler hanger, you can put 1.7/1.8 exchangers and muffler onto a 2.0 engine no problem. The flow may be a little less, but I wouldn't be surprised to find that the power difference was too small to feel.

Thanks, guess I can rest assured that I'll be able to use my Bursch exhaust and SS exchangers when I hopefully upgrade to the 2.0 in the next few years. Steve

I've done it, works fine. The only difference is like Dave said, the hanger and where the headers/exhaust mount to it. The best is taking off the exhaust and running around town. Sounds like a Harly fat boy... major power loss though, but oh so loud!

So where does one buy SS heat exchangers for the 2.0L engine? I need some. Might want heat (w/o CO) on those cold Southern CA mornings. OK, chilly. OK, not-so-warm....

We list them as NLA at the moment. That may have changed since the catalog was last updates; try calling 888-280-7799 and seeing if we really cannot get them anymore...

Some more unobtainium? Oh brother, the cost of parts compared to the value of the cars is horrendous. You gotta be a fanatic to have one of these.
