Yup! With an antenna hole in the trunk for good luck. Musta been used to try to find the cops. That car would be EASY to spot and target.

The car is within the range of known LE cars on the LE Registry on the 914 Can Am website. It sure looks original to me from way over here on the left coast.
This one is defintely one to watch... |

It would HAVE to be original. Wouldn't it? I mean, why would someone voluntarily put those colors on a perfectly good 914? (just kidding, Jeff. They look OK, but not my cup of tea)

I had a LE teener awhile back. I called PCNA when they were still in hotlanta. They were VERY heplful and told me that there was an option code that indicated that the car was in fact a LE. They even sent me a letter stating such. Unfortunately it was a bit too much of a project at the time and I had too many cars, soooooo....I sold the car to someone local and stressed that it was a LE, but the guy insisted on making some big fendered kit car out of it.
I tried later calling PCNA after thay moved out west, and the person answering the phone could barely spell Porsche. Not much help that go 'round. They may be better/more helpfull now.

I have seen this car on the web in a few different places over the past few months. I believe that the original asking price was $8500. It now carries a price of $7900 on their website. They never mentioned "LE" or the CB.

Thats a fantastic deal at $7900, if its in the original, rust free conditions its purported. If its in show condition or could easily be made into that condition with simple cleanup it would be worth much more. The PCNA Certificate of Authenticity, service records would help documnet the importance of thic particular car.
If the paint is worn, has body damage, or it has any appreciable rust or wear, that is what will bring the proice down to a collector. |

IF it is an excellent condition, low milage, rust free, rare Creamsicle LE that sells for $7900...what does that do to the value of the low milage, not so rare, "ordinary" 914's?

It doesn't lower the "ordinary" 914's much at all, according to the 914 tech guy in a recent issue of the Panorama. Somebody asked about making a racer out of a LE, and he said that the LE wouldn't command much more $$$ than an equal condition non-LE. Read into it what you will.
