D & Gs Swap Meet Alert
The So-Cal lo brow event is on. Don & Glenn's All 914 Swap Meet and animal flesh roasting event is planned for October 27th at Glenn's Chop Shop in San Bernardino.
See newbies and diehards go at a chassis with the SAWZALL and Plasma Torch. Listen to all the lies about when each of us are going to finish our projects. Swap, buy or sell your fine german rust. Partake in the finest tube steak, unidentifiable burgers and Bratwurst that the barby can put out. Consume mass quantities of fermented hops & barley, brown or clear sugared liquid and (yeeech) water. NO wine or cheese (except processed American) here. Possible Prize catageories (no prize, but it sounds good): 1. Most rusted vehicle able to move and stop under it's own power without breaking in half. 2. Most expensive 914 restoration (receipts required). 3. Longest project on the books (Glenn's -6 chassis should take that one). 4. Biggest knockoff of Pelican's Site (AA gets it hands down). 5. 1/2 hour tech session with Wayne, Tom or DD to be auctioned off (direct rip off of G IVs eBay auction). 6. Cruise downtown San Bernardino, vehicle with most bullet holes at the end wins. Well, it is 6 AM as I write this post. More information later (like address, times, etc). Glenn can be contacted at a914luvr@earthlink.net and Don (if he answers his email) at don@pelicanparts.com . Anyway, it is fun. If it's raining (huh?), we prolly hold it anyway. Ron (I know nuthin') Meier ![]()

Since Milt "bumped" this while I was on my "Trek Across America", I will POT it (Put On Top - if you believe this, I've got a bridge for sale).
Below is a Mapquest link: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?title=215+N+E+St%2C+San+Bernardino%2C+CA%2 C+92401-1902%2C+US&size=small&style=MEDIUM&point.0.label=&point.0.icon=209&mapdata=jZ2g%2B%2FXW8V8O2dGBI2gZlKoUHgiT5l5Acbxm5V pjMBLlQHBhk3JQcqVFZPPjq%2B3HEdRlK9XtJizMTIzD2W%2By e2wqDVCz6wzX4zZ19%2F8rUsROSHsIrUQxlIes7nOAPR3bWJ%2 FODmLPUjtZlxIAhNTNGr67H9JueaxBhHs6k5snkkxZ5eN6Vxvj LK6kgBbmvPixQlZg2EX36c%2BD3hXYlWRp5gXE11hxEkE2wPLt WU0WdOXFt4InPOXtmgXgq57%2B%2BLtrSlClRsdhL4xs%2BHne KaWtuBIiY10Uw35ZOHyh3PZqHv9RqLwV32%2FLSGWV0XhsRKfy 7Ax11RcySzOizBM2yAa7lTEwf0yhtu0Oyw7ijjOQCwkAfLuW8V CFEg%3D%3D&submit.x=77&submit.y=10 Find yourself on I-215 going thru San Bernardino. If traveling North (towards Las Vegas), get off on 2nd street - turn right - go to "E" Street and turn right - look immediately to the left for the PIP Printing Sign (gratitious plug for Glenn) and turn left into parking lot. If traveling south (from Lost Wages) - get off on 2nd Street and turn left under the freeway on 2nd Street (I hope there is an off-ramp) - go to "E" Street and turn Right - look immediately left for the PIP Printing Sign and turn left into the parking lot. Nearest major freeway intersection is I-10 and I-215. Festivities should begin about 7AM and be over about 2PM. Glenn just received another "Plasma Torch and SAWZALL" candidate - so Let The Games Begin. Glenn will ask for a $5.00 donation (to cover the cost of consumable goodies and help complete his $10,000 '74 project). In reality, I can't remember anyone being turned down for a drink and flesh sandwich if they didn't put the $5.00 in the cookie jar as no one really keeps track. Bring your stuff to sell and trade or for us to junk (Hey a 14 has two trunks and Red Beard has been known to carry 2-3 transmissions in the front trunk (just in case the suicide blonde pukes a gear - sorry James - had to do it). October 27th is the date - PIP Printing is the place. Hopefully Glenn will overcome his shyness and add to this thread. Maybe even Don will show up with some PP goodies. Any special requests from PP - email Don@pelicanparts.com Glenn is a914luver@earthlink.net Ron is nobody but ronmeier@rccauto.com works. Will POT this later with some phone numbers. Oh, I fogot - LOL, ROFLOL, IMHO, PO, POed, KMA, etc......,

D&G All-914 Swap & BBQ
Geez Ron, I don't know what to say after your rambling post! A couple of corrections are in order though. First, if your coming from the "Lost Wages" area heading south on the 215, there is no 2nd St. exit. You'll need to exit 3rd St. and go straight off the offramp to 2nd St. then turn left onto 2nd St. and make a right on "E" St. Secondly, I don't plan to start until more like 8am. You early birds are welcome to show up earlier, but bring your own coffee cuz I won't be ready for ya until about 8. Anyone who wants to set up a spot to sell 914 parts is welcome to do so, just don't plan on leaving your extra/unwanted stuff with me! I need to get rid of alot of parts and encourage everyone to scrounge thru the freebie pile. Oh, last thing, I don't plan on serving beer for liability reasons, but your welcome to bring your own. Of course, I highly recommend that you DON'T drink and drive.

sorry 'bout that. You'll be looking for PIP Printing, 123 N "E" St. in San Bernardino. Take the 91, 60 or 10 fwy to the 215 North and exit Second street. Make a right and go to "E" St. and turn right again. Make a left into the first parking lot and your there. We're starting about 8am and if you get lost call my cell; (909)203-1418.

Can you bring a blonde for me too?
![]() James, a question if you will: How much back and forth play on the shift arm at the case is usual? Mine goes back and forth about a quarter inch. |

Zeke:
Sideshift? Forward/backward play may just be the regular clearance while in neutral. Are you looking at it from where the shiftrod connects or just on the last link which directly couples to the shiftforks through the case? "In/out" movement while in neutral is normal and it accounts for the gear selection. If you're talking tailshift, I'll change some of my statements. The finger/cage just inside the tailcover, can wear and get sloppier. James

Be there with the Dodge, the boys, and some parts: - chrome bumpers, not perfect - bumper tops - aftermarket air dam - spoiler - 100lbs springs - possibly a 935 big-a$$ body kit - other odds and ends Don't forget your wallets!!! :-) sm |

I might want to join the San Diego caravan also, if you don't mind an "ugly duckling" tagging along. I'm near UCSD/University City.

Mike and Jeff,
If you see a big white prerunner Bronco dragging a trailer - it's a fellow teener with a bunch of parts to unload! Honk as you go by........normally I'm about as fast as there is on the road, but with the trailer it's a different story :-( ....so have pity on me! Craig.
