UpDate to "During tune up it quit".....
Thanks to all that contributed info to getting my "Punkin" back on the road. Not just from this thread but from all the questions I've posed.
Whilst doing the tune up, I'd just finished setting the dwell. The car was running great... then, I hooked up the timing light. That's when it wouldn't start. Apparently I shorted the points or condenser somehow. I checked for spark today and found none. I changed the condenser and, I figured, may as well put in the new points. (That little screw for the condenser was a real by*tch). I hit the remote start button and it started without hesitation. Zeke, you were right, even out of time as far as it was it still ran... amazing! So I reset the dwell and got it timed. GAWD, this car has NEVER run so well (since I've had it). I took it out (in the rain) and had so much power that I was literally breaking the tires loose by just stepping on it. Plus most of the vibrations are gone. Now I have the 1.7 injectors in instead of the 2.0's that were in it (big difference). All the vacuum hoses are new. Everything is set to "book" specs including the knob on the ECU was turned back to factory placement (I aligned the groove in the collar with the dent in the knob) It all came together and I did it all myself... A Very Big Accomplishment..... I feel good now and will sleep good! ![]() thanks again 'n g'night bruce

Good job. It's a great feeling when you accomplish something yourself. Why is it that the engines always seem to run better even if you just change the oil? Maybe it's the *Zen.*
