Is there a difference in front brake hoses for early and late calipers? Will one work on the other?

I think they all are the same size. They are just flared european hard line. I got all of mine at a FLAPS for like $3 each...

Yes, there is a difference. Up through the end of the 71 model year, the front rubber brake hoses were P/N 901.355.632.00, same as on the 914-6. For 72 and later 914s, the hoses were P/N 211.611.755 A for US cars. (European cars used P/N 113.611.775 B .)
The early/late types do not interchange. Note that this is different from when the calipers and rotors were changed. --DD

I thought he was talking about the hard feed lines that go from the caliper into the brake line. Are these different?
