Porsche 914 Window Sweeps or Window Squeege

I bought replacement rubber sweeps for the roll down windows on my my 914. They don't snap in, they need to slide into a channel in the area above the door handle which I am having difficulty doing. This there a lubricant that I can use that will not cause rust issues after the strip is properly inserted in the channel? Or is there another solution? Thanks.

Dish washing liquid and water is good, should just pop right in,you are talking about the outside scrappers right? mine are new but not a really tight fit in there.
Remember to cut them longer than they need to be as they do shrink a bit, mine were cut short bugger it.

the end might be crimped a little try to wallow it out with an awl or something. also try pull it through rather than pushing. heating it will probrobly help it be pliable. make sure its not stretched when you finally do get in in. try and compress it as much as you can. definately cut it way long. dont use any petroleum based lubricants that hurt the rubber. i would think dish soap or even tire lube would be fine
