Miami Blue or Olympic Blue?
I have been searching color code lists to determine what Miami Blue is. I have, what looks to be, the original touch-up paint vile, with the color code: L 51 C.1 Miami Blue.
The list here doesn't have a Miami Blue. It has Olympic Blue L 51 P. Can anyone make sense of this? Thanks,

Amazing what a quick Google search can come up with. I tried "vw paint miami blue" and found, among other things, this:

Both VW paint colors, but Miami Blue was never offered on the 914. You had the codes right though.
L51C=Miami Blue L51P=Olympic Blue As you will see on the sheets below, Miami is slightly darker than Olympic. ![]()

I checked out that site and those color chips are waay off color. I wouldn't use them as color guides at all.
Berber Yellow is pea green Nepal Orange is like Guards Red Not even close! Geoff

I beleive Miami and Olympic are *awfully* close to the same color.
Last year I spoke with a gentleman selling an original paint '74 Olympic Blue car, and he had a bottle of Miami Blue touch-up paint (sold to him for the task by J. Paterak, no less) that he claimed was almost a perfect match....
