1.8l dual weber help
Hi,
I 1.8 liter with the big bore kit and race cams. I recently put dual 40idf webers on it and had to down size my idle jets to 40s for best lean idle. car still seems sluggish at any thing over about 3,000 rpm. I'm currently running a 115 main and a 200 air. I'm thinking those may be to large but not sure how fare to drop down the main and if i do, do i need a smaller air correction jet as well. Ps. i live a little over 5,000 feet elevation |

I had a 1910 cc engine made from a 1.7 w/96mm jugs and a cam. It ran dual 40mm Webers. I had trouble getting it set up as well. I finally ended up with 32mm venturi's along with 135 Main jets. I didn't touch the air jets. Once someone who knew how laid hands on the carbs to tune them, the engine ran well and pulled like crazy. Talk to the people at Pierce Manifolds. They have a wizard working in the shop.

Your jets are way off the mark but I don't know what your venturies are however. Idles are too small which will cause a very lean condition in your normal driving range, mains are too small for your transition off idle jets.
Who put you on to this combo ?,it's not there sorry but more research is required to understand the changes you need to make ,go to aircooled.net for a good source of info. Don't know your motor but think ; idles 55, mains 130-140. 32mm venturies, See how you go,cheers.
