Foot Rest?
Hey Everyone,
I have an early 71 914, I've read several postings & wanted to know what the heck is the Dog Bone Foot Rest? Was it an option for 914s? Did it come available for the 71s? |

Here's a picture of the dogbone footrest:
http://www.pelicanparts.com/914/914_sample_parts/914_footrest.JPG It was offered on the cars that did not have an adjustable passenger seat (up to '72 off the top of my head). It was tied into the lower screw of the speaker panel. Standard on all early cars and 914-6s as far as I know. Hope this helps, Wayne |

foot rest
Does anyone have a photo of one of the foot rests in the car. One came with my 914-6 and I am not sure how it installs.
Thanks Bob |

It just sits in the passenger footwell. There should be a small D-ring somewhere on the right side of the footwell (possibly attached to one of the speaker grille mounting screws?) and the dogbone should have a strap with a thing that hooks over the D-ring.
The dog-bone can be positioned in several ways so that passengers of different sizes can comfortably put their feet on it. That was its purpose, after all. --DD
