Days like this (POC overall win)

Every time I do data acquistion or setup on a factory Porsche race car, I question why I even look at or twist wrenches on the 914's. Its tough coming back to reality after spending 4 days testing and setting up a GT3RS Porsche with my buddies from Mind Over Motorsports. After some tweaking and shock adjustments the owner of the GT3RS had the car in the 1:21 range on the big track (Willow Springs) The guy has been racing for a total of 10 months now. This was the second time he had even driven the GT3RS. Within a few laps of the race our main competitors crashed out or had mechanical failures. We told him to back off over the radio's after we timed the second car and found him with a 8 second lead.

I love factory Porsche race cars. The RSR EVO took 5th overall and 3rd in class running 1.23's We think the EVO can run a 21 also after seeing him lift throttle for over 400 feet going into turn 8 on his data acq. He knows and we know he can go into 8 flat out in 6th gear with a light tap and downshift into 5th for turn 9.

I wish I could actually make money doing this.

This was the lead we had by turn 5.

Just in case any POC people see this thread:

The GT3RS still has its ALMS restrictors in place.

Just wait until we run it wide open with the computer set on kill instead of "conserve". I think we can give Joe Kunz a run for his money. (Joe is known to run high 19's on the big track)

I cannot wait until the next Tribute to Lemans race...

Well, if you hadn't shown us the results of your recent off-track excursion, your chances would have been quadrupled

Cheers,

From what I recall, you (and your car) need to be running sub-1:30's to even be eligible for the main Tribute Enduro...and you need to be able to keep that up for 4 hours! I'm a loooooooong way from there. But there are other races that weekend, covering all the various classes.
