1.8 Fule pump?

I had a fire in the engine bay of my 74 1.8 L-Jet. As a result everything above the tin is gone. So I was going to replace it with a complete 2.0 D-Jet from a 73. Assuming the fule pump is unharmed as it looks fine do I need to change it anyway or can the 2.0 run off a 1.8 pump? It looks diferent in the 914 Fuel Injection Hose Diagrams that Pelican Parts has put up.

If I can get a wire harniss to splice into the old one at the fire wall, which years would work? Was the color coding consistent throughout all the 4's?

I'll be replacing all the fule lines. I've learnt my lesson and will carry a fire extinguisher from now on as well.

The pump in the diagram is for the 75-76 cars. All the 74 and earlier cars used the same pumps as each other.

The wiring harnesses changed colors a little bit from year to year. Not sure how much, but it doesn't appear to be much. Get a 74 if you want to make sure of matching.

You'll probably have to get the harness out of a wrecked car. I suggest pulling the harness complete, rather than cutting it up, and installing it complete as well. It will look a lot nicer than one that is spliced together, and should give you fewer problems.

If a dry-chem extinguisher was used to put out the fire, remember that dry-chem eats aluminum and also wiring. It is also VERY tough to clean it up enough so that it stops eating aluminum and wires. Another reason to think strongly about replacing the whole harness with one that hasn't been exposed to dry-chem.
