Anyone know of a good Porsche shop to do a PPI near Sandwich, Illinois? LMK...thanks

This is for a 914 right? There is a 40+ year independent shop that does all Porsches, but specializes in the the 914 in Peoria IL. Looks like that is just under 2 hours from Sandwich. Never dealt with him, but he has a good reputation on 914world.

I got a chance to meet Brad at Hershey this year. A really nice guy, and of course he knows these cars inside and out. If you can get some of his time that's a good choice.

He has been working on 914s since they came out--he was a dealer mechanic at the time. Great guy, tons of 914 knowledge. I'm sure there are shops in Chicago-land that know 914s, but I don't know who they are off the top of my head. Perhaps you can ask on the 914world BBS as well?

There are also knowledgeable owners in the area who might be able to go look at the car with you. That's usually not as detailed as a shop PPI, but it's nice to have someone along with who knows 914s. Garold Shaeffer is in Portage IN (yes, the other side of the area) and is a serial 914 owner, for one example.
