Problem with my Rennshift

I bought the rennshift kit from pelican with all the new bushings and linkage but the gear change is not good.The gear change is rough it crunches into Reverse and first and its a struggle to get the right gears.I would appreciate any advice on what i could do to make is smother

Step 1: Adjust the clutch. The free-play is basically measured while pulling up on the pedal, not pushing down as in most other cars.

If that doesn't help, move on to:
Step 2: Replace 1st gear synchros. Can be done without removing the transmission from the car; see the tech article in the 914 Tech Articles section of this website.
