Removing Lettering on Engine Grill

Hey,

Trying to salvage the letters off of an engine grill I am about to chuck. Is there any easy way to pry the pushon speeds clips off without mangling them completely?

Thanks!

Mike

I took a simple pen and used the aluminum top......just your basic pen that we all have a gazillion of in some designated drawer somewhere. I took the top and sniped several notches out of the open rim. Then I just fitted it into a cordless drill as if it were a regular drillbit with the notched end out. Put the drill in reverse and slowly start to twist the speedclips while very gently pushing a flat screwdriver between the clip and the metal grill. Simple, cheap, and it worked.
