1970 or 1971 914-6???

I recently acquired s/n 9140432350. The car has been with the same owner since 1979. It has 66,000 original miles. It was built in June of 1970 and sold at Ogner Porche in Canoga Park in February of 1971. All the paperwork identifies this car as a 1971 model and yet the 4th digit in the s/n (0) indicates that it is a 1970 model. Does anybody out there have any thoughts on this?

It's a 70. Some places pay more attention to the date the car was originally registered, but the VIN says it's a 70.

That’s what I thought. I guess I will just go ahead and register the car without making any waves. DMV doesn’t handle curve balls very well. Thanks for the confirmation.
