Massive clunk and no start up?
Hi,
I just shipped my 6 from Maryland to Texas, where work relocated me. I had a quick backroad blast, what fun and then it was onto the trailer. The rig was very nice, but the driver was young and spoke rather broken English at best! I "educated" him as best as I could on the 901 shifter experience! The guy then blitzed it to Houston and arrived before me. My wife had him offload the car and put it in the driveway, no issues?? When I got home the car would not start. Upon turning the key one loud, as in very loud clunk would result! Once it sounded as if the starter engaged and attempted to grind on some flywheel teeth! Then it was back to the clunk! I got to thinking about this ... put the car in 5th and moved it back and forth. Then attempted a start in neutral .. and the old girl fired right up! So, I am thinking there must be a starter issue ... any feedback? Chris |

Hi Chris - take a look at the link below to one of our site's DIY tech articles on the starter. I hope it's helpful and that you're able to resolve the issue. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
