8 valve head onto a 944S block?
I may be needing a bottom end for my 924s and have the chance of a bottom end from a 944s M44/40 block (Including pistons/crank etc) is it as straightforward as swapping head /ancillaries over ?

Iirc the 944S block and crank is the same as the 924S block and crank, the only difference would be the pistons as the 944S pistons are cut for 4 valves per cylinder whereas the 924S pistons are cut for only two. If your 924S pistons are good, and the same tolerance group as the pistons fitted to the 944S block, then you should be able to swap them over with new rings.

Right, need to swap pistons really.
Where is this M44/40 bottom end? I've been looking for one. |
