VDO 80 psi oil pressure gauge with stock sender?

Does anyone know if the VDO 80 psi oil pressure gauge will work with the early 944 stock sender?

I'm looking at this gauge.

That is exactly the same VDO gauge I have in my car with a stock sensor.
Reads around 80 PSI at cold start (at idle)
Reads around 35-45 PSI when hot (at idle) depending on ambient temperature.
Reads around 60-70 PSI when hot (at speed) depending on ambient temperature.

My background and profession is Steam Boilers, so all my gauges (and brain) are calibrated in PSI.

ok, that helps. 5 bar is a little more than 72 psi, so I thought it might work.
