86 944 Antifreeze, lost about 2 quarts

I have lost about 2 quarts of antifreeze.

No leaks under the car.

Pressure tested the cooling system to 15 PSI, it held steady for 20 minutes.

I use Mobil One 10w 30 high mileage and the oil is not clear. it is cloudy.

Can the antifreeze be getting in the oil? The pressure test looks OK.

1) How do you test for water in the oil?

2) Can I use a block sealer the stop the antifreeze from getting in the oil? What brand do I use?

Thanks

Probably bad oil cooler seals. Park it until you fix it right.

+1 it’s likely your oil cooler seals have failed, as part of the the fix you should plan on replacing your rod bearings, it’s just good insurance.

Hi,

An oil analysis is accurate way to detect coolant mixing with oil. I would send in some oil before starting replacing parts, especially since the oil is not obviously contaminated.

Is the coolant missing after driving the car? Have you looked at the spark plugs? If there is not an external leak, and no leak into the oil, a cylinder head problem is possible.

Good luck,

Peter

My two bits

Is a heater core leak a possibility causing fluid to drip inside the car under the passenger dash?
