Head questions...
I have some questions on the cylinder head on my car. We just got it off an cleaned it up, and found some scary things.
There are three or four corroded pits in the head surface that come within 1/8" of the cylinder wall bearing surface that are about 1/8 by 1/8 each, and 20/1000's of an inch deep. Two of these pits are in the exact area that the head gasket failed. My question is, can I machine 20/1000's off the head to remove those and use a 20 over head gasket? And, if not, what do you guys recommend? Just leave it, or get a new head, or ? Also, will the head off of an 86 NA fit my car?

SOrrosion from the coolant - you can have a machine shop repair them - you can't shave that much off - -they will fill it and then shave the whole surface smooth.
Yes, an 86 head will work AFJuvat
